Introduction

November 24, 2006

We hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!

While you were enjoying meals with your families, a talented software developer sat in an Alameda County jail unfairly awaiting trial for the murder of his wife.

We are concerned citizens who feel that this prosecution is a travesty of justice, and that Hans Reiser is innocent of the crimes of which he is accused. Our goal is to not only expose the truth but to actively campaign for his release. In pursuit of this goal, we will be blogging our discoveries as well as protesting in the streets.

Hans Reiser is a hero of the free software movement, and his liberation is essential for the further development of a fantastic filesystem as well as the Linux kernel itself. We hope you can join us in helping him!

  1. Fools Gold Says:

I fail to see relevance of his contribution to a file system, particularly one that you describe as imaginary.

  2. toolej Says:

Just to say, how can you say he is innocent?

That is ridiculous. Do you know every fact about the case? Does the fact that he’s a genius mean that he’s innocent?

He by all means deserves a fair trial, but making claims that he is innocent where you clearly do not know all of the facts just discredits our position.

  3. GFX Says:

A Linux file system is worth nothign as compared to justice.

Though maybe there is a bug in his code and that is where that front seat of his CRX went to…

“Just to say, how can you say he is innocent?”

Morons say all sorts of things.

“Does the fact that he’s a genius mean that he’s innocent?”

Morons have a simple rule: “no one I think well of can possibly have committed a crime”. (If that sounds like a Republican rule, well, there’s a lot of overlap.)

“He by all means deserves a fair trial, but making claims that he is innocent where you clearly do not know all of the facts just discredits our position.”

“our” position? It certainly discredits the authors of this site.

“Hans Reiser is a hero of the free software movement, and his liberation is essential for the further development of a fantastic filesystem as well as the Linux kernel itself. We hope you can join us in helping him!” His liberation is essential? Well I guess that’s too bad if he winds up being convicted. Who writes this crap? A teenager?

  6. Jess Says:

Are you in the streets now? Apologizing that you were defending a cold blooded murderer?

  7. ors Says:

Jess, I couldn’t agree more. It must sting a bit.

But seriously, don’t blame the people behind this blog. Blame Hans Reiser for being a psycho who killed his wife.

  8. boboTheClown Says:

    Free Hans Raiser!

  9. boboTheClown Says:

I still think hans raiser is not guilty and he is actually a psychic from another dimension.

  10. DeAnna L.K. Hudson Says:

Shame on you! The least you all could do would be do the honorable thing and admit you were wrong. I mean come on! Hang it up! Your computer genius golden boy has confessed for crying out loud. His exact words i believe were that he killed her in the least painless way there is to die. But the fact is he punched the mother of his children and strangled her to death and buried her in a four foot grave! All his words! So man up people! This guy is slime! And if you support that lack of morality then not a whole lot can be said for you either!
